Mission - Our mission states what we do, why we do it and who we do it for. (Click here for more discussion of our mission).
We create paths that connect our Church Family to its Biblical Mission.
Vision - Our vision expresses where we want to be 3-5 years from now (4th quarter 2006). It's a picture of our destination, not necessarily how we will get there. (Click here for more discussion of our vision).
User friendly paths enable our Church Family to discover their unique abilities and be connected to ministries, serving and being served, in obedience to God.
Further Discussion about our Mission: We create paths that connect our Church Family to its Biblical Mission.
We...
We are the Connections team
create paths...
We communicate the need to be a part of a Church Family;
We teach others about how God has prepared them to serve;
We help ministries create new opportunities to serve;
We develop systems that maintain current information about all the ministries available in our church.
that connect...
We consider you connected if you are serving and being served.
our Church Family...
Some people are looking for a church;
Some people are visiting our church;
If you call this your church home, you are a part of our Church Family.
to its Biblical Mission.
The Great Commission tells us what we (the church) are to DO as a church:"...Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you..."
The Greatest Commandment tells us who we (the church) should BE: "...love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself..."
When we are Connected (serving and being served), the church is fulfilling its Biblical Mission.
Further Discussion about our Vision: User friendly paths enable our Church Family to discover their unique abilities and be connected to ministries, serving and being served, in obedience to God.
User friendly paths enable our Church Family...
Connections' mission is to create paths; we want these paths to be so user friendly that nearly anybody in our Church Family can find them and use them (see discussion of Mission for more specifics on paths and Church Family)
to discover their unique abilities...
Every believer has been uniquely created for God's purpose. We use the term abilities to encapsulate many things including: Spiritual Gifts, Heart/passion, Abilities/skills/talents, Personality and Experiences.
and be connected to ministries, serving and being served,...
In the future state, our Church Family will "BE" connected (or people are too new to be considered part of the Church Family) to ministries. We believe connection is not limited to serving, but also to being served (as an example: in small groups for fellowship or for personal growth).
in obedience to God.
As descrbed above in the church's two-pronged Biblical Mission (Greatest Commandment and Great Commission), we feel that God commands us to be connected in our church.
