Bob and Deb have been attending the E-Free church since 2007. Bob serves with Intervarsity Christian Fellowship and Deb has recently been added to the Timber-Lee Christian Center staff as their Director of Development. Along with their two children adopted from Krasnoyarsk, Siberia, they love movies and biking, our children.
Bob & Deb visited local churches when they first moved to Cedar Grove. They eventually came to Sheboygan EV Free and were welcomed. They enjoyed the preaching and the children's program seemed right for their kids so they got committed even though there are many churches closer to them. Bob graduated from Trinity and therefore has strong connections to the Evangelical Free Church.
Wanting to get connected to others in the 2nd service was their primary reason for starting The Mix ABF. Being a relative outsider (coming from Milwaukee ) and living in Cedar Grove, they wanted to see others that are not “natives” to Sheboygan have a chance to connect with others here.
Bob's vision for The Mix… “We are designed by God for authentic community. The word ‘community' can mean many things, but here we are talking about genuine Christian commitment to each other. None of us thinks we have it all figured out, but we aspire to learn about it and grow into it. I once heard a speaker describe the experience of community as a place where we really KNOW others and we are known, a place where we CELEBRATE others and are celebrated; it is where we SERVE and are served and ultimately a group where we can say we grow to LOVE and be loved. I like that. That's what we want church to be; that's what we need in our lives. Hopefully, that's what The Mix will become.”
Their favorite “Mix” experience so far has been the Super bowl party hosted at their home in February.
