Meet The Mix Leadership Team

( The Mix main page )

Bob & Deb
(414) 630-9477

Bob and Deb have been attending the E-Free church since 2007. Bob serves with Intervarsity Christian Fellowship and Deb has recently been added to the Timber-Lee Christian Center staff as their Director of Development. Along with their two children adopted from Krasnoyarsk, Siberia, they love movies and biking, our children.
Bob & Deb visited local churches when they first moved to Cedar Grove. They eventually came to Sheboygan EV Free and were welcomed. They enjoyed the preaching and the children's program seemed right for their kids so they got committed even though there are many churches closer to them. Bob graduated from Trinity and therefore has strong connections to the Evangelical Free Church.

Wanting to get connected to others in the 2nd service was their primary reason for starting The Mix ABF. Being a relative outsider (coming from Milwaukee ) and living in Cedar Grove, they wanted to see others that are not “natives” to Sheboygan have a chance to connect with others here.

Bob's vision for The Mix… “We are designed by God for authentic community. The word ‘community' can mean many things, but here we are talking about genuine Christian commitment to each other. None of us thinks we have it all figured out, but we aspire to learn about it and grow into it. I once heard a speaker describe the experience of community as a place where we really KNOW others and we are known, a place where we CELEBRATE others and are celebrated; it is where we SERVE and are served and ultimately a group where we can say we grow to LOVE and be loved. I like that. That's what we want church to be; that's what we need in our lives. Hopefully, that's what The Mix will become.”

Their favorite “Mix” experience so far has been the Super bowl party hosted at their home in February.

Ryan & Melissa
(920) 946-7152

Melissa and Ryan both grew up on the mission field.  The Lord has really given them a burden for people who are unreached with the gospel.  They have spent the last few years preparing for overseas ministry and are now making final preparations to head off the mission field in 2010.

Ryan's family started attending E-Free just after he was born.  His parents came to the E-Free church because they liked the Sunday school program.  The family moved to Papua New Guinea when Ryan was six to be missionaries.  E-Free has always been the church home that they have come back to.

Ryan and Melissa saw that there were a lot of new people at the church that hadn't really connected yet with a small group.  They mentioned to Pastor Mark that they wanted to get to know some of them to see if they would want to get more connected with the Church somehow.  Pastor Mark told them that he was going to be starting a new ABF and asked them to be a part of it.  Ryan and Melissa gladly accepted.

Ryan's vision for The Mix… “In five years I hope that The Mix can be a group that knows each other well and looks out for the needs of one another.  I hope that they would desire to grow together spiritually and spur one another on. I also hope that it would be a place where new people will always feel at home.”

Their favorite Mix experience so has been the Super Bowl party.  “It was fun to see us start to gel as a group.  There was a real oneness of spirit there as everyone was going for the Cardinals.”

 Randy & Cassie

Randy & Cassie have been married for 7 years and have two sons who are ages 4 and 1. They came to the E-Free church in October of 2004 after trying to find a church where they felt welcomed and that taught the Bible.

Pastor Mark approached Randy and Cassie about being on the Leadership Team for The Mix. After much prayer and thought, they felt it was time to do more with the church and provide another ABF where people could feel welcomed like they were when they first started in their other ABF (Common Ground).

Randy & Cassie's vision for The Mix… “Our hope for The Mix is that people of all ages and backgrounds can experience a closeness and unity in Christ. That they will lean on each other to learn more about what God has in store for them, and how to live a life for God. “

Their favorite “Mix” experience so far has been meeting new people in the group, and learning from their experiences in life.

Dave & Heather

Dave and Heather have been married for 8 years and they have 2 kids ages 5 and 7 who attend Sheboygan public schools. They both attended the Free Church before they got married and then they moved away for a few years. They moved back about 6 years ago and have been attending ever since.

The couple had been thinking and praying about a group like this (the Mix) at church when they were approached about being a part of the leadership team. They saw this as an open door from the Lord.

Dave and Heather’s vision... "is for a group of adults all ages, all life experiences being able to share lifes ups and downs, joys and sorrows, failures and successes. We want to see older mentoring younger and younger encouraging older. We want to be a community/family of believers."

Their favorite thing about The Mix so far is just being able to get to know different people.

Dean Becker

Dean's vision of the future of The Mix is a vibrant community of believers who put their faith in God.  He sees a diverse mixture of people who enjoy fellowshipping together, serving one another and others as they seek to know God on a deeper level.  A place where God's Word is taught.

Within the Sheboygan Evangelical Free Church, each ABF (Adult Bible Fellowship group) has one or two Elders assigned to the leadership team.  Dean is currently the elder on The Mix leadership team.

Dean is married and has two sons. He has been attending the E-Free church for about 15 years. During that time he has served as a Sunday school teacher in the children's department, a Deacon, and now an Elder.

Dean's favorite part of The Mix so far is the fellowship that comes from shared experiences.
