Questions about the TechMedia Team?

Is the TechMedia Team really a ministry?

A ministry serves people on behalf of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus asks us to represent Him by providing care and love

For I was hungry and you fed me; I was thirsty and you gave me water; I was a stranger and you invited me into your homes; naked and you clothed me; sick and in prison, and you visited me.' "Then these righteous ones will reply, 'Sir, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you anything to drink? Or a stranger, and help you? Or naked, and clothe you? When did we ever see you sick or in prison, and visit you?' "And I, the King, will tell them, 'When you did it to these my brothers, you were doing it to me!'
Matt 25:35-40 (Living)

Jesus also asks us to draw others closer to Him…

He told his disciples, "I have been given all authority in heaven and earth. Therefore go and make disciples in all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and then teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you; and be sure of this--that I am with you always, even to the end of the world."
Matt 28:19-20 (Living)

God has asked us (people) to be his voice and hands and feet here on earth. Our TechMedia Team ministry serves our church… and our church serves the church and the world. We are connecting people to people with technical media communication

Who’s on the TechMedia Team?
There are between 15 and 20 people on the team...

Most are active, some (four) are on “sabbatical” (away at college or have other major events in their life right now) yet we continue to include them on the team.
We also have a few “extended” members (two) that really belong to other ministries but have been trained and are authorized to use our equipment to serve in specific areas.
We vary in age over at least 5 decades starting in the mid-teens to… we haven’t asked the exact age of some of our older members!
Some have lived in Sheboygan their entire life, two have come from Venezuela and everything in between!

Questions about Serving on the TechMedia Team

Who do you need to add to the TechMedia Team?
Even though at times it may seem we have “enough” we understand that at any moment that could change:

There are constantly life events that pull our team members away for a while (college, having babies, job changes, etc.).
Sometimes God calls somebody from our team into another ministry… and we certainly don’t want them held back because we don’t have somebody to replace them.

Check out all the positions/roles we have available.

Please feel free to contact Sean Young to discuss any of these opportunities in detail.

What is the typical commitment?

Our primary philosophy is that if we have enough servants, no one person will be overworked. The specific commitment level varies based on the role you choose, but we’re always open to “job-sharing” or whatever works for you.

What skills do I need?
“ That depends!” Of course, based on the specific role you serve, your required skills will vary greatly. We have listed those we find most helpful in our descriptions (“Opportunities to Serve”), however we are more than willing to train those who have the right attitude and motivation!

Questions about the future of this ministry

What is the future direction of the TechMedia team?

Well, we’re still working on that. We are assembling a steering team within our team that will formulate our exact “Mission Statement” that will revolve around the “serving people” aspect of our ministry.

Once we’ve finalized our Mission Statement, we will begin to develop our strategic plan for the next 3 to 5 years.

Are there plans to upgrade any of the Equipment?
Yes… we are currently working to improve the video monitors used by the worship teams and speakers on stage. We are still evaluating several potential solutions and will then implement our final solution in the beginning of the second quarter.

One of the next major upgrades will be the projectors that cast images on the screens in the front of the sanctuary. Searching for new projectors has begun and this upgrade should be complete sometime in the second or third quarter.

Other upgrades include improving the video signal/response from the computer to the screens. We will be looking at the various components involved (computer, video cards, video amplifiers, switch boxes, wiring, etc.) and then developing our upgrade plan.
